Overgrazing is when cattle tramples over land too much in an extended period of time and it ruins the soil. Plants and their roots become weakened and die off. The topsoil also gets destroyed allowing it to be eroded off of the land leaving weak infertile soil. This allows for a lot of weeds to invade the land and all of these will ruin the habitat. Animals such as cows, longhorns, bulls, sheeps, and goats can be affected by overgrazing because they eat plants and grass but overgrazing destroys these resources therefore destroying their habitats. All the plants are also affected as they are trampled over and killed. The levels of organization affected are organisms, populations, communitys, ecosystems, and even cells. All of these are destroyed by overgrazing and some just get their resources and habitats destroyed but they are all affected. As for carbon and nitrogen cycles, overgrazing can reduce the amount of carbon and nitrogen in the overgrazing soil because of the erosion. The carbon and nitrogen won't go away but it moves it to different land.
